Resound are a Danish manufacturer with their UK head office based near Oxford.  They represent an amalgamation of several different companies.  They own such global brands as Beltone, Interton and Otometrics.  They are considered to be one of the top manufacturers of audiological equipment in the world. 

Resound are a relatively minor supplier of NHS hearing aids compared to Oticon and Siemens. Of all the hearing aid manufacturers in the UK, Resound is one of the few that does not actually own a proportion of a large retail outlet. 

Resound have been responsible for many ground-breaking hearing instrument technologies.  Several years ago they invented wide dynamic range compression (WDRC).  This feature enables a hearing aid to give different levels of amplification depending upon the loudness of the incoming sound.  Basically soft sounds are amplified a lot and loud sounds are amplified a little - if at all.  This feature is in virtially all hearing aids in the world now.  They were the first manufacturer to successfully launch an "open technology" hearing aid - the "Resound Air".  To read reviews on all the Resound hearing aid models please visit our price list.
