Sonova Holding AG is a Switzerland-based company which incorporates Phonakand Unitron hearing aid manufacturers as part of their product portfolio. Boots Hearing care, (originally owned by David Omerods is now part owned by Sonova who also own Phonak the hearing aid manufacturer.
Boots Hearing Care offer their hear plus hearing aid starting at £149 as a carrot or inducement for people to enquire to their adverts. They recently advertised hearing aids at half price only for customers responding to the advert to be told that the offer was on out of date technology. The reality is however that these aids are seldom recommended as being the best option as a rule and certainly not by independent dispensers. The Boots hearing care hearing aid dispensers are highly trained into selling their hearing aids for higher prices at prices in excess of £2000 each. What people tell US is that they want is a transparent price list that gives an honest price. If you are in any doubt then phone any high street hearing aid company and ask for a price for a pair of the new Oticon Agil Pro and they will no doubt be more interested in making an appointment than telling you the price. However if you deal with an Internet company, in our opinion you will not only get the same or even better service, but could also save yourself up to £2000.
If you need any more convincing…Ask for a price for the latest Widex technology “Fusion” and compare it to Hearing Aids At Trade.
As we get hundreds of phone calls telling us that they can’t believe our prices. There is no doubt that Boots Hearing Care are concerned about low cost Internet prices, after all look what happened to Woolworths?
