The Phonak’s Ambra hearing aid is the latest digital hearing aid offered in the Phonak portfolio which incorporates their latest platform of technology. The Phonak Ambra hearing aids are an up to date solution for clearer hearing, especially when listening in background noise. The name Ambra relates to the level of technology in the hearing aid and is available in all styles including in the ear and behind the ear models.
The latest addition to the Ambra range are the ultra small Phonak Nano hearing aids that have evolved from dental technology and provide one of the thinnest walled miniature shells on the market to date, in order to provide a truly invisible C.I.C. (Completely in the Canal) hearing aid. This is available at a small premium and is sure to be a front running C.I.C. for clients with a greater desire for cosmetics.
With sound 20 sound processing channels, the Phonak Ambra also has the added benefit of e2e (Ear to Ear) communication when fitted as a pair. This communication feature allows both hearing aids to adjust in tandem to provide optimum hearing when in noisier surroundings. E2E technology allows the best available solution at all times, automatically by reducing those annoying unwanted back ground noises that prevent people hearing properly in situations s restaraunts, in the car. Other features that the Ambra has includes:
Ultra Zoom - This enhances speech by removing more unwanted background noise using directional microphones.
Stereo Zoom – The 4 microphone system incorporated in 2 hearing aids, creates a narrow band which eliminates other conversations when in large groups. This feature is a tried and tested must for those wishing to hear more clearly in noisier situations.
Zoom Control- A binaural speech processing method that focuses on speech regardless of sound direction and streams it into both ears giving a clearer understanding of speech. Ideal for when trying to hear whilst in a car as an example.
Flexi Control – Allows the user to alter or enhance sounds in more demanding situations.
Sound Recover- Allowing inaudible sounds to be shifted into lower channels to help maximise speech, where normally unheard .
The Phonak Ambra can also be used with the Phonak icom which streams sounds directly into the hearing aids via the latest bluetooth hearing aid technology with devices such as mobile phones, computers or mp3 players. Phonak also have a streamer for use with television, which streams the sounds from the television directly to the hearing aids allowing greater control of volume without being and inconvenience to others.A remote control can also be purchased which comes at an extra cost. Wireless streamers allow more flexibility and control to the user but it is always advisable to see how you cope without these accessories, so that you are not needlessly spending extra money.
