The Phonak In the ear (ITE) Cros or Bi cros link system allows sounds from a client’s a dead or inaudible ear to be sent via a wireless receiver to the clients better ear or hearing impaired ear. Please allow good length of rehabilitation to adapt so you are able to hear more readily if you have not worn any form of cros system before.
The cost is for the transmitter from the dead ear and can be used with any of the Phonak products or styles. Just chose your technology level and add that hearing aid cost to the transmitter price. (i.e. Transmitter used with ambra will cost £695 plus £1575. Total cost £2270).
The Phonak Bi Cros system can be adapted to any of the “wireless” ranges including Ambra, Solana and Cassia if in the ear, or the Audeo 9, Audeo 5 and Audeo 3. The price shown is for the lowest level of technology and can therefore vary in price depending on the level you choose.
In the case of the bi cros link system the sounds received from the dead ear are altered through the latest Phonak hearing aid platform chip, which compensates for their hearing loss in the better ear.
Under normal circumstances because of what is called “the head shadow effect”,where important high frequency sounds responsible for the consonants or the clarity of speech are lost completely causing a person with a dead ear not would not be able to hear from that side, especially when listening in back ground noise.
Phonak are responsible for providing some of if not the best quality of sounds and anyone with a dead ear are sure to benefit from this hearing system. The In the ear option is especially more beneficial as opposed to their NEW behind the ear option as it can be used where a client has damaged both low and high tones of their hearing and would also suit people with who prefer not to wear anything behind the ear.
This system comes with a whole host of features including blue tooth compatibility through their icom streamer.
